Brazilian Law No. 14,193/2021 introduced a specific legal framework that enables football clubs to professionalize their management and governance through the creation of a Football Corporation (Sociedade Anônima do Futebol – SAF).
Under this framework, a football club or original legal entity may establish a SAF through a capital contribution involving the transfer of assets related to its football operations, including trademarks, fixed assets, licenses, sporting rights over players and their related economic rights, among other assets.
